GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County D.A.) – On Wednesday, June 19th, Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke issued a letter and report to Greeley Police Chief Adam Turk regarding the officer involved shooting of Giovanni Pacheco on April 28th, 2024.
The 19th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) conducted the investigation which was provided to the District Attorney’s Office.
Based on the thorough CIRT investigation, DA Rourke has determined that Officer Welch was justified in discharging his firearm at Pacheco during the incident.
Because of pending litigation of Pacheco, no additional information will be released at this time.
