Longmont police officer justified in March shooting

GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County D.A.) – On Thursday, April 25, Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke issued a letter and report to Longmont Police Chief Jeff Satur regarding the officer involved shooting of Nicholas Kovacs on March 18, 2024.

The 19th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) conducted the investigation which was provided to the District Attorney’s Office.

Based on the thorough CIRT investigation, DA Rourke has determined that Officer Christopher Glenn was justified in discharging his firearm at Kovacs during the incident.

Because of pending litigation of Kovacs, no additional information will be released at this time.
