GREELEY, Colo. (Weld County D.A.) – On Tuesday, July 16th, Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke issued a letter and report to Milliken Police Chief Benito Garcia regarding the officer involved shooting of Colin Brixius on June 3, 2024.
The 19th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) conducted the investigation which was provided to the District Attorney’s Office.
Based on the thorough CIRT investigation, DA Rourke has determined that Officer Spreitzer was justified in discharging his firearm at Brixius during the incident.
Because of a pending prosecution of Brixius, no additional information will be released at this time.
